GOING GREEN!
2L Race Services has undertaken the ambitious goal of moving towards carbon neutrality. That means no more noise, no more smelly gasoline, and no more dependence on fossil fuels is the goal for ALL 2L Race Services timed events.
This initiative started with the use of portable solar-powered generators at track meets in the spring of 2022. Then, over the summer, a big step was taken with the permanent solar installation of 1.6kw of solar panels on the roof of our timing trailer, giving us enough battery backup to get us through timing all day without a generator!
With multiple timing crews spread throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, the transition to fully carbon-neutral timing services won’t happen overnight. However, we are committed to getting there by 2024 and are well on our way.
Clean & Quiet Power
Our trailer is solar-powered so we can be green, clean, and quiet when we time your event! Our 1.6kw of solar panels on the roof can get us through most events without needing to start up a generator. Overcast? No problem. We have batteries (fueled by clean solar energy stores) to keep us going all day. Eco-friendly race timing and event management!
Small, Powerful & Green
By combining portable solar panels and a portable power station, we can run our computers, clock, and timing equipment to power your race. So, now any event can go green and utilize solar power with zero emission that is nearly silent when in operation.
