2L Race Services is looking for new team members to help us at time events across, but not limited to, Central and Southern Pennsylvania. Most races occur on Saturday or Sunday mornings, but some weekday opportunities may present themselves. No race-timing experience is necessary, but a passion for endurance sports is always a plus!
Part-Time Race Timers Needed
Based out of West Chester, PA, 2L Race Services provides chip and FAT timing, online registration, event management, and other services to running and endurance events across the Mid-Atlantic states and beyond. We time races of all shapes and sizes and provide fast, accurate and knowledgeable service to our clients! We will provide full training and competitive hourly pay rates.
Currently, we are looking for timers for running events timed using RFID (bib chip) technology. We also want to hire timers for weekday/afternoon track meets that employ Fully Automated Timing (FAT) timing equipment.
Basic Responsibilities
- Set up and breakdown of start and finish line equipment
- Data management for new participants registering on race day
- Producing and posting race results during and after the event
- Managing the flow of participants at the start and finish line
- Fielding questions from participants about results
Qualifications
- Ability to problem solve on the fly
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to be on time, typically for early morning weekend call times or weekday afternoons
- Must have driver's license and vehicle to reach race destinations
- Events typically take place outdoors in all weather conditions, so please be prepared
- Ability to lift 20 pounds at a minimum and ideally up to 50 pounds
Compensation
$15 - $30 an hour based on experience.
